Welcome everyone to the wedding website of Fredric Hobbs and Julia Stoessel. We hope that you can join us on our special day for what will hopefully be the most memorable brunch wedding you have ever attended (or the only brunch wedding you have ever attended). How We Got Here
Fred and Julia met the good old fashion way, a swipe to the right. In order to ensure their first date was extra memorable, they met at the dog park where Julia and her two huge labs welcomed Fred with open arms and paws. Fred pursued Julia while she continued with one word responses and overall aloofness, though she still denies this to this day. She fell in love with his love for all things Marvel and he fell in love with her passion for parks and rec volleyball, becoming her #1 fan. They both cannot wait to celebrate their special day with all their friends and family (and maybe a few paws).
The Proposal
Fred and Julia took a fun couples trip to Maya Beach, Belize (shout out to Chris and Tina) where they swam in crystal clear water on a private island, waded through pitch black caves with only their headlights to guide them and stumbled upon a Mayan Temple BUT Fred did NOT propose at any of these picturesque locations. Instead, on their last day hanging out in the pool with shots of rum in their hands, Fred took his shot and asked Julia to marry him. She ugly cried for what felt like forever and said yes! The pool with shots of rum was the perfect place for Fred to take his shot at asking Julia to be the future Mrs. Hobbs.

Milvia and Julia met freshman year of college when Julia knocked on her dorm door and let her know that they would be friends! 21 years later, Julia’s statement still rings true. Milvia and Julia have travelled the world together, with Milvia having shown her around France and Italy to reminisce about her time spent studying abroad, and with Julia having shown Milvia her favorite parts of New York City. Though they may not talk every week, they both know that the other one is only one call away.

Traci Frilot
Julia and Traci became fast friends bonding over their FOMO while working at Chili’s. She soon left for Chico State and Julia made several trips up there to re-live her college days. Traci made the move back to So Cal where she set roots in Long Beach just to be close to Julia (or that’s what Julia tells herself). Traci is the friend every girl needs who will hit you with the honest truth but with the most love you have ever experienced in your life.

Tina and Julia have shared many memories over their 15+ years of friendship, some sad some happy. They have always stood by one another through thick and thin. Tina and Julia work together and have survived being the only two women in their department. Tina is a confidant, friend and, most importantly, a sister to Julia.

Lauren is Julia's little cousin who is now a full blown adult. Lauren made the big move from Minneapolis to beautiful Long Beach so now they are So Cal neighbors. Julia and Lauren live busy lives so they do not see each other often, but Lauren is always game to walk Julia's pups or make an extravagant feast for the family.

Miriam and Julia met because she is an awesome older sister to Fred. Although they have not spent a lot of time together, Julia cannot be more excited to get to know her soon to be sister.

Fred Hobbs has many important people in his life, so his groomsmen list is extensive. This is easy to understand since Fred is one of the kindest, sweetest, good-natured individuals out there. While there may not be enough space to add a bio for each groomsmen, some of these men have known Fred since they were in pull ups (Lionel and Steve), playing sports at Los Al High School (Shawn, Joe and Zach), becoming the new kid Junior Year of high school in SI (Jason, Michael, Roy, Alex and Kevin), attending Cal State Sac while living in Davis (Kareem, Frank and Dave) and bartending in the city post graduation (Dmitriy). Fred cannot imagine getting married without all of these great men by his side.

Ceremony

Watch Fred and Julia tie the knot. Guests can begin to take their seats at 11:30am. Seating is limited in the ceremony room but there is standing room directly outside for those who are unable to grab a seat; so, arrive early if you want to get front row seats to the show!
